NEW NAME, SAME MAG:
Welcome to the first newsletter from artificial.dk – formerly known as kopenhagen.dk/net.art. The name and domain are new, but everything else remains the same, and we will continue to keep you updated from the field of computer based art forms. As always news, updates and comments are most welcome at artificial@artificial.dk.

---------------------------------------------------------------------ELECTROHYPE BIENNIAL AND CONFERENCE:

Currently we are getting ready for a big event in our part of the world: the Electrohype Biennial and conference in Malmoe, Sweden in late November. This is the third Electrohype Biennial and the organizers found that it was time to look back. Under the headline ‘Perspective’, the exhibition will have both a historic and a contemporary section.
The conference will also focus on the historical development as well as on the contemporary conditions for the computer based art.
The big finale will be a panel debate on that subject. Artificial.dk is part of the reference group behind the conference.
The dates are:
Electrohype Biennial: November 27 – January 23.
Electrohype Conference: November 28-29.

REMEMBER TO REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE BEFORE NOVEMBER 18. http://www.electrohype.org

We look forward and hope to see you there.

PLUG-INS REVISED
Dutch artist Peter Luining's Photoshop plug-ins work as odd additions to the existing Photoshop filters. Among other filters you will find a 'Michel Foucault filter' framing the antics of the filter as the struggle between self vs. other, thus offering a warped perspective on the use of software as such. http://www.ctrlaltdel.org/plugins_revised

EXTRA:
With the upcoming US presidential election in mind we would like to draw your attention to a few European initiatives in this special election extra.

Übermorgen: Want to buy yourself a vote in the US election? Then maybe you should check out this site. http://www.ubermorgen.com/2004/

Danes for Bush: Two Danish guys have been campaigning across America for Bush handing out so-called Freedom Fighter awards and parading slogans like “Save us from old Europe”. Are they for real or are they doing a Yes Men? We shall not tell.
